Fact Sheet:
We are Ashley and Jason Bartner, two expats who at the age of 26 years old traded Brooklyn for the deep Italian countryside nearly 20 years ago! We’ve turned a centuries-old farmhouse into La Tavola Marche, a culinary hub where the table is the center of the world. Our mission is to share with our guests the 'true soul' of Italy through a slow and immersive travel philosophy—which is why we’ve been featured in National Geographic Traveller's Culinary Collection cover story as a premiere destination for travelers seeking purposeful, seasonal, and wildly authentic food experiences in 2026.
We specialize in deep-dive heritage experiences—from whole-hog butchery to wild foraging—that connect travelers to the '99% of Italy' that remains authentic and off the beaten path while staying in a 500 year-old farmhouse agriturismo.
If you are willing to muddy your feet, we’ll guide you off the beaten path where you will see Italy at its roots.
We combine searching for the best seasonal local ingredients, hands-on cooking classes, and the conviviality of the table to help you connect with the people through their food, culture, and land.
