Behind the Scenes: Shopping in Italy
After over 16 years living in Italy, I'd love to share with you a few of my favorite places to shop in Le Marche, Umbria and Tuscany! Bring an extra suitcase for this trip so you have enough space for yourself and gifts for others! Think cashmere sweaters & scarves, wedges of 3 year aged Parmesan, a stunning ceramic platter or even custom handmade shoes!
Day 1: Arrival to Welcome Prosecco & Aperitivi, followed by farm to table dinner
Day 2: Guided drive to Umbria to visit 3-4 Cashmere factories and the opportunity to see how the garments are made, with the final stop at Bruno Cucinelli in Solomeo for a visit to the world famous luxury cashmere designer's restored hometown & flagship store. We'll stop along the way for lunch at a favorite osteria. While we are shopping, Jason will be cooking and have dinner waiting at the farmhouse upon our return.
Day 3: Market Tour & Tasting with lunch and behind the scenes tour of the kitchen by the butcher! | Evening visit to Urbania to the Enoteca for an aperitivo then a stroll through the medieval village to Antica Casteldurante for handmade ceramics shopping, they have a bit of everything in their tiny shop and all beautifully handpainted. Dinner at the Farmhouse.
Extend your stay:
Day 4: Visit Fratterosa for a fitting & have handmade shoes made and sent back to your home followed by a wine tasting at TerraCruda. Farewell Dinner at the farmhouse
